    EVENT CANCELLED. VENUE IS CLOSED DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. Be a spectator or participate with your own car at the drag races at Barona Speedway, 1750 Wildcat Canyon Road, Lakeside, ca 92040. www.baronadrags.com All day registration to drive is $40, spectators $15, 10-17 years old $10. Under 10 free. Bring a car to race or just show up to watch and smell the rubber smoke and nitro—aww. Gates open at 8am, Membership meeting will run from 8:30 am till 10:00 am.     Arrive with a full tank of gas. Meet at 3:00 PM on Saturday April 11th at Starbucks: 3777 Avocado Blvd, in Rancho San Diego Village. It’s across the parking lot from Dixieline in the Village. We will depart Starbucks at 3:20 pm with Eric Ludwig leading us out through some really fun east county backroads to Pine Valley Park for a comfort stop, after which, we continue and cross back over HWY 8 through some more backroads to the Golden Acorn Casino, 1800 Golden Acorn Way, Campo, Ca 91906 - for dinner around 5pm. After dinner we will have a moonlight cruise set to depart 6:45 pm. We will head West on HWY 8 to State Route 1 (Sunrise Hwy) turning right and continue on NORTH through Julian, Santa Isabel, Ramona and home.     June 6th Curt Sorweid will be leading us all on his yearly wine cruise, driving thru the back roads in Bonsall and Fallbrook and ending in Temecula Wine country. The scenery is just breath taking with rolling hills and back roads with very little traffic, your spouse or friend will love this cruise. Its not an aggressive cruise like we have sometimes but geared more about scenery, cruising, and fun camaraderie with friends in the club. As always Guests with Performance Fords including Mustangs, Shelby Mustang 350/500s, GT-40’s Panteras, Cobra Roadsters and Coups. Time’s and places TBD.

    EVENT CANCELLED. PLEASE TAKE TIME TO REMEMBER OUR FALLEN BROTHER. Our annual Idyllwild Lunch Cruise will be Saturday, March 14th 8:30 am, arrive with a full tank of gas at our usual meeting place at North County Fair Mall 272 East Via Rancho Pkwy / Escondido in the parking lot by Black Angus and JC Penny’s. Will depart 9:00 am with a comfort stop planned at Dudley’s Bakery in Santa Isabel. From there will be a beautiful ride to Idyllwild for lunch at the famous Lumber Mill Bar and Grill in the center of town (25985 Ca-243), Idyllwild Ca 92549). They will try to cordon off some parking in front of the restaurant for us and there is parking in the back as well. There is a Chevron gas station next to the restaurant to fill up your gas guzzling Cobra for the ride back. This run is open to any and all Shelby and High performance Ford vehicles as well as other performance vehicles that can keep up. Will announce the route back at lunch.     Mark Coulter is going to lead us on a beautiful ride / cruise this Sunday the 23rd. Show up at North County Fair by Black Angus Restaurant with a full tank of petrol at 9:30 for a departure time of 10:00 am. Will head north on Bear Valley Pkwy to San Pasqual Rd RIGHT on hwy 78 East to Ramona. We will stay on hwy 78 and when we pass over Main St in Ramona where it turns into San Vicente Rd we turn RIGHT on Wildcat Canyon Rd to Barona Casino (1932 Wildcat Canyon Rd, Lakeside 92040) where we will have lunch. This cruise is a kinda impromptu run so anybody is welcome. All performance Fords are always welcome. This is a beautiful ride – hope to see you Sunday.     Saturday Afternoon: As part of the hype of the new movie “Fords vs Ferrari” we have been asked to set up a Show & Shine Cobra Car show in front of the Angelica Cinema. The theater is the same as our movie preview, 11620 Carmel Mountain Road, 92128, time 2:00pm – 6:00 pm. Park directly in front of the theater. We will occupy 15 stalls on each side of the sidewalk for a total of 20 cars with room to walk around the cars. This area is nicely shaded and make an attractive spot to show off the cars, photo shows the parking stalls we will be taking.     Come help share the love of Carroll Shelby at this annual event when SoCalSAAC will be a featured club at Crusin’ Grand in Escondido. All club members and guests with performance Fords are encouraged to participate. Enter eastbound on West 2nd Ave from Center City Parkway and turn left onto Broadway. Encouraged early afternoon arrivals can park close by until Broadway closes to traffic for the staging of the featured show cars about 4:30pm.     Come help share the love of Carroll Shelby at this event when SoCalSAAC will be a featured Club at the weekly La Mesa Classic Car Show.     THIS EVENT IS CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN. IT WILL BE RESCHEDULED AT A LATER DATE. At 8:00am with a full tank of gas rendezvous at the Westfield Mall at North County Fair at 272 East Via Rancho Parkway, Escondido, CA 92025, between the Black Angus restaurant and JC Penny’s. Gas is available just across the street. The only scheduled gas stop will be after lunch, 112 miles from the morning departure location. This event is open to club members and GUESTS with performance Ford cars including Shelby Mustang 350/500s, GT 40s, Panteras, Cobra Roadsters, Coupes and others. With a departure at 8:15am followed by a comfort stop at the famous Dudley’s Bakery in Santa Ysabel a no host lunch will be held on the patio at the Lumber Mill Bar and Grill in the center of town (lumbermillidyllwild.com) at 25985 CA-243, Idyllwild, CA 92549. With plenty of parking in back, they have offered to cordon off special/display street-front parking for up to 8 of our vehicles. Chevron gas is available close to the restaurant at 25015 CA-243.     At 08:00, rendezvous with a full tank of gas at North County Fair Westfield Mall, 272 East Via Rancho Parkway, Escondido, CA, 92025, between J.C.Penny’s and Black Angus. Gas is available on the east side of I-15 (exit #27). Departure will be no earlier than 08:30. Outbound Route: CA-78, C-79, CA-371, CA-74, CA-111 with comfort stops in Santa Ysabel and Anza. No gas stops planned for this 115 mile cruise until after lunch. We have a lunch reservation @ Cactus Jack’s at 74-450 Hwy 111 @ 11:30am, followed by a gas stop and an optional return trip rendezvous at the Chevron Station next door. Return route will be to retrace our route to Aguanga but turn right onto CA-79 into Temecula (ETA: ~3:15pm) for a comfort stop at the ARCO station on the right at 44239 Margarita Rd, Temecula, 92592.     Be a spectator or participate with your own car at the drag races at the Barona Speedway, 1750 Wildcat Canyon Road, Lakeside, CA 92040. www.baronadrags.com. All day registration to drive is $40, spectators: $15, 10-17yrs: $10, under 10yrs: free. Bring a car to race or come for the show. Gates open at 8am, racing from 10am to 4pm; parking is available. Parties interested in caravanning to the Barona Speedway can meet at 9am in front of the Starbucks at Fenton Market Place in Mission Valley, 2245 Fenton Parkway, 92108 (no RSVP needed). Or just meet in the parking lot for a cruz departure time of no earlier than 10am. The cruz will take us through Ocean Beach, along Sunset Cliffs and out to the end of Point Loma for a group photo at the lighthouse (Cabrillo National Monument parking pass: $5/vehicle). From there, we’re onto Seaport Village ($16/2 hours parking) with a stop for a Ben & Jerry’s mid-day treat.
